Qualifications

• Completion of a nationally accredited Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician program.
• Minimum of one year of experience in instrument decontamination, sterilization, and surgical tray preparation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and OR protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and assemble instruments per procedure.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining readiness.
• Perform counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Position, drape, and transport patients as needed.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Sterilize and organize instruments and keep operating room stocked.
