Job summary

Lifepoint Health®– North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our surgical support team. The role emphasizes critical thinking, calm decision-making, and strong communication to assist in the operating room and patient care across a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Must have strong critical thinking and decisive judgment in high-pressure environments.
• Clear English communication skills (read/write/speak).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with drapes, instruments, and supplies.
• Ensure equipment and instruments are in good working order.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Pass instruments to physician during surgery.
• Maintain count and location of instruments and supplies.
• Receive and process specimens for laboratory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
