Position Summary:
Maintain the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection. To assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Surgical technologists graduate from surgical technology program
License: Passed the Certified Surgical Technologist examination 6 months from hire date
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
