Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in the OR
• Assists the circulating RN in monitoring sterile fields
• Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
• Assists with gowning and gloving of surgeons and positioning equipment.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Operates specialty equipment after training.
• Assists with transportation and positioning of patients.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for procedures and performs equipment checks.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Monitors inventory, orders, and restocks supplies and equipment.
• Discards out-of-date items following guidelines.
• Assists with general cleaning duties of the department.
• Assists with clerical tasks and data gathering for indicator data.
• Prepares and updates preference cards and instrument tray lists.
• Records patient charges correctly.

Assists with transportation and positioning of the patients. 8. Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedure following preference cards. Performs equipment checks as assigned. 9. Assists with sterilization and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment. 10. Monitors inventory; orders; and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment. 11. Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses following established guidelines. 12. Assists with the general cleaning duties of the department. 13. Assists with clerical work, and record keeping duties including the gathering of indicator data such as frequency of events. 14. Prepares and updates preference cards and instrument tray lists as directed. 15.
