Job summary

Eye Health America LLC partners with leading eye care practices in the Southeast, providing operational and administrative support to deliver excellent patient care. This role supports the surgeon and nurse in procedures and may require overtime.

The candidate assists with OR prep, maintains supplies, and upholds aseptic technique under surgeon guidance, contributing to safe, efficient operations in the center.

Qualifications

• Surgical tech certification preferred but not required.
• At least one year of surgical experience or completion of a formal surgical technician program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room for planned procedures.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies.
• Set up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies per standards.
• Observe aseptic technique throughout procedures and report any breaks.
• Pass instruments, supplies and sutures to surgeon and assistants as needed.
• Ensure removal of used instruments and supplies from the operative field.

This individual is responsible for assisting the surgeon and nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures. Overtime may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure.
• Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
• Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards.
• Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and report break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon.
• Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed and in such a manner so that their attention is not diverted from the operative field.
• Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field.

Requirements
