Job summary

MidWest Eye Center in Cincinnati, Ohio is hiring a Surgical Technician to support physicians and the Nurse Manager by preparing and anticipating instrument and procedural needs for all surgical procedures in accordance to regulatory standards.

You will obtain supplies, maintain sterile areas, report any incidents, and perform related duties. The role requires 0-3 years of experience and current BCLS certification; no nights or weekends are required.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in a surgical/clinical setting.
• Maintains current BCLS certification and annual in-services.
• Able to work in a surgery center with exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Obtain supplies from other areas as needed.
• Return supplies and equipment to the appropriate location.
• Assist in keeping the Central Sterile area neat and orderly.
• Effect health or safety hazards for self and patients.
• Report any unusual occurrences or incidents to the Clinical Director.
• Perform other duties as required.

We are now hiring a Surgical Technician to assist Physician(s) and the Nurse Manager by preparing, maintaining and anticipating instrument and procedural needs for all surgical procedures in accordance to regulatory standards.

• Obtaining supplies from other areas as needed
• Returning supplies and equipment to the appropriate location
• Assisting in keeping the Central Sterile area neat and orderly
• Effecting handling health or safety hazards for self and patients
• Reporting any unusual occurrences or incidents accurately to the Clinical Director
• Performing other duties as required
• 0-3 years of experience
• Maintains current BCLS certification and completion of required annual in-services
• Ability to work in a surgery center environment with healthcare interactions that include patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease under a moderate level of noise
• Must be able to understand and follow instruction with speed and accuracy
• Must be able to organize and set priority for work to be done
• Possesses manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, attendance, and good interpersonal skills
