Job summary

AMSURG is seeking a full-time certified Surgical Technician for the Surgery Center of Allentown. The role focuses on scrubbing for Total Joints, assisting with OR prep, instrument handling, and efficient room turnovers in a friendly setting.

Qualified candidates have surgical tech program completion or at least 6 months experience and state registration; successful candidates work calmly under pressure and participate in room setups and specimen handling; benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Tech program or 6 months of surgical tech experience.
• State Surgical Tech registration.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex and at times stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Verify operations of the equipment to ensure in good working order. Assist with position and preparation of the patient.
• Prepare surgical suite with instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures. Account for number and location of instruments and supplies.
• Receive and process specimens.
• Sterile processing of equipment.
• Assist with supply inventory.

Summary:

We are currently searching for a full-time certified surgical technician with experience in scrubbing Total Joints. Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Major responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments, efficiently participating in room turnovers, and picking surgical supplies in accordance with physician preferences. Monday to Friday with no weekends and no holidays. Good pay and benefits
