Position: Surgical Tech Vascular Coordinator

Schedule/Shift: 0.9 FTE

  • Schedule: Flex Schedule
  • Hours: 0630 - 1900
  • Holiday B rotation
  • Call rotation - Housing available when on call overnight.

Compensation Range: Min $31.01 - Max $51.92

Job Overview

Performs a variety of technical duties to assist the surgeon, patient, and team with surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Work independently.
  • Recognize patient confidentiality and maintain it.
  • Convey empathy and compassion to those expressing pain, grief or trauma.
  • Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Incorporate guest relations in daily activities.
Working Conditions

Inside environment, protected from the weather but not necessarily temperature changes. Subject to frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, and hazardous materials and equipment. Occasionally subject to combative patients. Variable noise levels. Also subject to rapid pace, multiple stimuli, unpredictable environment, and critical situations.

Physical Requirements
  • Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear.
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes.
  • Extend arms and hands in any direction.
  • Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands.
  • Pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers.
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs or more.
  • Able to tolerate frequent prolonged standing/walking.
  • Able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients.
Qualifications
Education

Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.

Experience

Minimum of one year current operating room experience (student experience allowed).

Licenses, Certifications and Registration
  • Required: BLS.
  • Desired: Certification as Surgery Technician.
Equipment, Tools, and Work Aides

Includes but is not limited to surgical instruments and equipment, video equipment, and sterilizers.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

Ability to provide care for the patient’s age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being during the perioperative phase.

  • Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred; ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
