The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and completion of a surgical technician program; BLS is required and CST or eligibility per Texas HB 643. Prior spine experience is preferred and ability to stand for long periods is essential.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma required; completion of a formal accredited surgical technician training program preferred.
• 2-5 years spine experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; CST or eligible to practice per Texas HB 643.

Aufgaben

• Performs technical skills and assists surgeons, anesthesia personnel, RNs, and others in the operating room.
• Safely operate electro surgical, diagnostic, microscopic laser, video equipment, and specialty equipment.
• Update and rewrite preference cards as indicated; conduct sponge, needle, and instrument counts with RN.
• Monitor technique and alert team to breaks in technique; communicate with circulating RN and surgeons.
