Job summary

North Central Surgical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our operating room team. Under RN supervision, you will set up and maintain sterile fields, handle instruments and supplies, and support efficient OR workflows.

The ideal candidate has CST certification, at least one year of CST OR experience, and current BLS. Knowledge of joint/spine procedures is a plus; we offer flexible PRN shifts and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of previous Operating Room CST experience is required.
• CST certification, required.
• Current BLS required.
• One year of Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for procedures under RN supervision.
• Applies knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies used in the OR.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system to ensure continuous patient services.
• Follows guidelines for sterile field setup and instrument handling for procedures.
• Re-stocks OR supplies as caseload permits and supports nurse in activities.

We are currently looking for a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team.

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will support our team by being responsible for the following:

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
• Applies knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
• Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.
• Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Assists circulating nurse in maintenance of physician preference cards.

Required Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of previous Operating Room CST experience is required.
