Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System is seeking a Surgical Tech to join our operating room team as a Scrub Tech 6. The role performs a variety of technical duties to assist the surgeon, patient and team during procedures.

The position offers a 1.0 FTE schedule, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with call rotations and housing on call overnight. Sign-on bonus of $20,000 with a two-year commitment is available.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Tech I).
• Tech II requires an Associate degree or National Certification.
• Tech III requires Associate degree and Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience: perioperative experience preferred for Tech I; 6 months for Tech II; 3 years for Tech III.

Position: Surgical Tech - Scrub Tech 6

$20,000 Sign on Bonus with a two year commitment.

Schedule/Shift: 1.0 FTE

• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 0630 - 1500
• Holiday A rotation
• Call rotation - Housing available when on call overnight. Current average 4 nights in a month!

Compensation Range:

• Surgical Tech I: $29.83 - $49.95/hour (Step Scale 1 - 20)
• Surgical Tech II: $31.61 - $52.92/hour (Step Scale 1 - 20)
• Surgical Tech III: $32.56 - $54.52/hour (Step Scale 1 - 20)
• + any applicable shift differential

Working Conditions

Inside environment, protected from the weather but not necessarily temperature changes. Subject to frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, and hazardous materials and equipment. Occasionally subject to combative patients. Variable noise levels. Also subject to rapid pace, multiple stimuli, unpredictable environment, and critical situations.

Qualifications Surgical Tech III

• Experience Required: three years of perioperative experience.

Other: Surgical Tech I, II, III

• Exposure to blood, sharp instruments and other devices, body fluids and tissue, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
