Job summary

ProMedica Monroe Physicians is seeking a Surgical Technician to support surgical cases at Flower Hospital. You will prepare for procedures, maintain sterile fields and assist the team to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include aseptic technique, instrument and sponge counts, and collaboration with the circulating nurse. LPN or surgical technology training is required; CPR is mandatory; prior surgical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or a Licensed Practical Nurse educational program.
• Current, unencumbered LPN licensure from the state of employment if hiring into the LPN capacity.
• CPR required.
• Prior experience in a surgical setting preferred.
• AST or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and manage surgical cases, ensuring sterile field integrity using aseptic techniques.
• Collaborate with circulating nurse to maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments and sharps per guidelines.
