Job summary

LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will gather supplies, set up sterile fields, and assist the surgeon during procedures to maximize patient safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have graduated from an accredited surgical technology program with CST certification preferred, and strong attention to detail. This full‑time role includes days and call shifts in a supportive, team‑oriented hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited surgical technology program.
• CST certification preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
• Sets up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solution needed for the procedure.
• Performs initial instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure.
• Holds retractors or instruments as directed by the surgeon.
• Applies electrocautery to clamps or forceps on bleeders.
• Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room.
• Participates in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care.
