Job summary

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an LPN and two years of scrub experience OR completion of a Surgical Technology Program with surgical technologist certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• One year of Surgical Technology experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in the OR to assist the surgical team.
• Assists the circulating RN in maintaining a sterile field and monitoring technique.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating RN.
• Assists with gowning and gloving surgeons and positioning equipment.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with patient transportation and positioning as directed by the surgeon.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures following preference cards.
• Monitors inventory and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Ensures proper recording of patient charges and adheres to guidelines.
