Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical technician training program or equivalent job training completed.
• Certification as a surgical technician or two years of experience in lieu of certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and procedures in the operating room.
• Prepare the operating room by assembling routine supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Set up and operate specialized instrumentation and equipment used in surgery.
• Maintain sterile environment and handle instruments and supplies per policy.
• Assist in transportation, positioning of patients, and ensuring safety and comfort during surgery.
