Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Decatur, GA is seeking a Perioperative Services Tech to support the surgical team in the operating room and perioperative areas. You will assist with patient care, prepare the environment, and ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, you will stock supplies, maintain aseptic technique, and help with room setup and cleaning while following infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and observation duties under supervision of a RN, LPN, or Surgical Technologist.
• May assist with setup of operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Opens sterile supplies and instruments under supervision, ensuring proper aseptic technique.
• Stocks, sets up, and maintains specialty carts and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and instruments in a clean, aseptic condition.
• Performs routine cleaning, disinfection, and trash removal in perioperative areas.
• Transports patients safely to/from the operating area.
• Replenishes supplies, medications (as permitted), and linens.
• Greet and assist patients, family members, and healthcare team members.
• Adheres to infection control and PPE guidelines.
• Performs other duties to support perioperative services.
