Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV seeks a Surgical Tech to provide intraoperative care as the scrub person during operative procedures. The role supports the surgical team with aseptic technique and instrument handling.

Scheduled shifts are three 12s per week. This non-exempt full-time position offers a sign-on bonus and requires BLS within 30 days of hire, along with relevant surgical tech training or nursing background.

Qualifications

• Must hold current licensure as LPN or RN, or have completed a Surgical Technology program, or HS diploma/equivalent with 2 years scrub experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Surgical technology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique in the OR.
• Assist circulating RN by monitoring personnel and sterile equipment.
• Perform sponge, instrument, and needle counts per guidelines.
• Pass sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, gowning, and draping as directed.
• Support with transportation and setup of supplies and equipment.

Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during a surgical procedure.6. Assists with transportation and positioning of the patients to include assisting the surgical team by holding retractors and position of operative limb under direction of surgeon7. Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedure following preference cards.8. Assists with sterilization and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.9. Monitors inventory; orders; and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.10. Removes out-of-date items and discards or reprocesses following established guidelines.11. Assists with the general cleaning duties of the department.12. Performs equipment checks as assigned.13. Assists with the proper recording of patient charges.14.
