Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is hiring a Non-Certified Surgical Technologist to support aseptic technique and patient care across our ambulatory centers. You will scrub during operative procedures, prep instruments and assist in room turnover.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technologist course; two years OR experience preferred. ORT certification and ASC experience are preferred assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course required.
• Two years operating room experience preferred.
• ASC experience preferred.
• ORT certification preferred.
• Training from armed forces health programs acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scrub person during operative procedures.
• Prepare surgical instruments and transport to the decontamination areas.
• Assist with post procedure cleaning of the operative room and preparation of the room for subsequent patients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Non-Certified Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.
• Assist with post procedure cleaning of the operative or other invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Non-Certified Surgical Technologist Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certification
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course
• Two years previous operating room experience
• ASC experience preferred
• ORT certification preferred
• Successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the armed forces of the United States, the National Guard or in the United States Public Health Services
