Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, seeks a full-time surgical technologist for a Sunday–Tuesday overnight schedule. This role supports the operating room team, helps set up the OR, passes instruments, and assists surgeons during procedures.

A NH Medical Tech license and BLS are required, with 2–4 years acute-care experience preferred. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 403(b) and a Cash Balance Pension Plan.

Job Summary

Full time night position 36 hours: Sunday, Monday & Tuesday overnights at WDH in Dover, NH. Hiring new grads, Surg Techs with experience and FA's. $10K Sign on Bonus! Career ladder for Surg Techs. Minimal call & new higher pay rates! Great Benefits including medical, dental, 10 paid holidays, a 403b and Cash Balance Pension Plan! Summary: Under supervision, assists in operations. May help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.

Essential Functions
  • Participates in time-out procedures.
  • Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Sets up equipment independently.
  • Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
  • Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
  • Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Licenses and Credentials: NH Medical Tech license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Experience: Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting 2-3 years preferred and Four (4) years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting preferred; committee and leadership experience 3-5 years preferred.
