Job summary

FullShift Staffing, LLC seeks a Local or Travel Certified Surgical Technologist to join our OR teams. You will prep the operating room, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field under the supervision of surgeons and nurses.

This role supports patient safety, assists with positioning and equipment setup, handles specimens per guidelines, and may require on-call shifts. Housing or travel stipends and reimbursement for travel are available to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Experience in OR preparation and sterile technique is preferred.
• Ability to work under supervision in diverse surgical settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room for procedures.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures while maintaining sterility.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment under licensed staff.
• Position patients for surgery with proper safety.
• Support the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with patient transportation and positioning in the OR.
• Handle and dispose of specimens following infection-control guidelines.
• Perform instrument sterilization and routine maintenance.
• Be on call for variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Uphold ethics, standards, and regulatory compliance.

As a Local or Travel Certified Surgical Technologist, you will embark on an exciting journey, assisting surgeons and nurses in delivering safe and efficient patient care during surgical procedures. Your role will be essential in ensuring the success of surgical operations, patient safety, and positive clinical outcomes across diverse surgical settings.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize the operating room (OR) for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment, such as lights, suction machines, and electrocautery devices, under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery, including prepping the surgical site, draping, and securing patient safety devices, in accordance with established protocols.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, providing timely assistance and ensuring smooth workflow in the OR.
• Assist with patient transportation, transfer, and positioning within the OR, maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical experience.
• Handle and dispose of surgical specimens and biohazardous materials appropriately, following infection control guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform surgical instrument sterilization, disinfection, and maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and quality assurance measures.
• Willingness to be on call to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet surgical scheduling demands.
