Job summary

FullShift Staffing, LLC invites you to join our team as a Local or Travel Certified Surgical Technologist. In this role you will assist surgeons and nurses, prepare the OR, and help ensure patient safety and efficient procedures across diverse surgical settings.

You will be involved in equipment setup, sterile technique, patient positioning, instrument handling, and on-call scheduling to meet operating room demands.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the OR for procedures, ensuring sterile equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures, maintaining a sterile field.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment under licensed supervision.
• Position patients and prep sites per protocol.
• Anticipate needs and assist surgeons and nurses to maintain workflow.
• Assist with patient transport and positioning in the OR.
• Handle disposal of specimens and biohazardous materials per guidelines.
• Sterilize, disinfect, and maintain instruments per QA standards.
• Be on call for variable shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Uphold ethics, standards, and regulatory compliance; show compassion to patients.

As a Local or Travel Certified Surgical Technologist, you will embark on an exciting journey, assisting surgeons and nurses in delivering safe and efficient patient care during surgical procedures. Your role will be essential in ensuring the success of surgical operations, patient safety, and positive clinical outcomes across diverse surgical settings.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organize the operating room (OR) for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
• Set up and operate surgical equipment, such as lights, suction machines, and electrocautery devices, under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery, including prepping the surgical site, draping, and securing patient safety devices, in accordance with established protocols.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, providing timely assistance and ensuring smooth workflow in the OR.
• Assist with patient transportation, transfer, and positioning within the OR, maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical experience.
• Handle and dispose of surgical specimens and biohazardous materials appropriately, following infection control guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform surgical instrument sterilization, disinfection, and maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and quality assurance measures.
• Willingness to be on call to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet surgical scheduling demands.
