Job summary

Responsibilities include sterile setup, instrument counts, managing supplies, maintaining safety, and coordinating with surgeons and nurses. Requires graduation from an accredited program; CST preferred, BLS, LA Fire Card, and ARC within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• Associate’s Degree - preferred.
• One year of clinical experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (preferred).
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire).
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrub duties in all specialties with sterile setup and instrument handling.
• Assists with instrument counts and sponge and needle counts; helps with casts/dressings as needed.
• Prepares operating area safely and organizes supplies and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and ensures readiness of equipment.
• Provides a safe, therapeutic environment and uses protective equipment and universal precautions.
• Works with physicians and RNs across various surgical procedures and routines.

Education

Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program

Associate’s Degree - preferred

One year of clinical experience as a Surgical Technologist
