UVM Health - UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont is seeking a Surgical Technician to support labor and delivery services. The role includes setting up operating rooms, ensuring safety checks, and collaborating with the surgical team.
The ideal candidate will have current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or the ability to become certified. Competitive pay rates range from $24.21 to $38.14 per hour, with additional shift differentials and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.
Labor & Delivery at UVMMC supports our hospital system and region by performing 2,200 to 2,300 deliveries per year with 11 rooms and 2 operating rooms in-unit. In late 2025, Labor & Delivery, as part of the Vermont Children’s Hospital, joined the Golisano Children’s Alliance and is now part of the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
$24.21 to $38.14/hr + shift differentials
$28.77 to $45.38/hr + shift differentials
$5,000 (taxed) Sign-On Bonus for eligible external candidates. Additional terms, conditions, & changes may apply. Pro-rated for part-time positions.
The Surgical Tech is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the sterile field. The Tech accurately and efficiently anticipates surgeon’s needs intraoperatively by applying comprehensive knowledge of operative procedures, Equipment, anatomy and surgeons’ preferences. The Tech works closely with all perioperative team members during the preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative care of the surgical patient and will also be required to precept.
