Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED with two years of surgical experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or Technologist in Surgery-Certified at hire.
• CPR/BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team in scrubbing according to standards and licensure.
• Maintains sterile field and reports breaks in aseptic technique.
• Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon.
• Assists with retracting tissue and suctioning as directed by the surgeon.
• Electrosurgical current may be applied as directed by the surgeon.
• Performs surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure.
