Job summary

Discover Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech II to support perioperative services in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment in Nashville. The role involves assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring instruments and supplies are ready for procedures.

As part of Perioperative Services, the Surgical Tech II may work night and weekend shifts, contributing to high-quality care for adult surgical patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved discipline specific program or successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during military service.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
Certification from NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C is required unless graduation came from a military program.

Responsibilities

Facilitates patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Plans, sets up, performs, and cleans up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and scrub tech.
Performs counts for sharps, sponges, and instruments according to policy.
Demonstrates knowledge of asepsis and maintains the sterile field.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
