Job summary

UNC Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist II to join the Float Pool. The role supports multiple service lines across UNC Health locations, offering flexible scheduling and 8/10/12 hour shifts in day, evening, or night blocks.

Minimum 3 years OR experience and CST certification required. The position is per diem, onsite in Chapel Hill, with opportunities to work at multiple UNC Health facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operating room experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification.
• Comfort working across multiple surgical specialties.
• Willingness to float between locations and adapt to schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performs OR scrub duties and supports sterile technique.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with instrument handling and labeling.
• Counts instruments and follows procedures for discrepancies.
• Assists surgeons and nurses during intraoperative phases and specimen handling.
