Job summary

UChicago Medicine seeks a Surgical Technologist II for the CCD Operating Room Relief. This 100% onsite role in the greater Chicagoland area supports perioperative services and collaborates with nursing, physicians, and staff to deliver patient care.

The position requires a Surgical Technologist program graduate, CST certification (within 12 months), BLS, and 1–3 years of OR experience. Evening shift, full-time, located in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Minimum 1–3 years of Operating Room experience.
• CST certification required (within 12 months of hire).
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms, pack openings, and set up instruments for procedures.
• Assist with surgeries as a scrub technologist in all services.
• Maintain aseptic technique and proper labeling of specimens.
• Collaborate with OR staff, nurses, and surgeons to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain supply inventories and update preference cards as needed.
