Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech I-PRN to prepare the operating room for procedures, ensure instruments are sterilized, and assist the surgical team with basic tasks in a fast-paced OR.

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, you will follow infection control standards, support room turnover, and maintain sterilization and equipment readiness in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Knowledge of infection control and regulatory sterilization standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with standards.
• Provides basic surgical support including room setup, sterile field management, handling of specimens and instruments, and room turnover.
• Assesses equipment and supply needs for procedures and ensures availability.
• Ensures proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Follows infection control policies and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service standards.
