Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech I-PRN for Colony Park North to prepare the operating room for procedures and provide basic surgical assistance to the team, ensuring patient comfort and instrument readiness.

You will manage sterile fields, assist with room turnover, monitor equipment, and adhere to infection control standards. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required. This is a part-time position in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certifications/licensing: N/A (as specified in job posting).

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Provides basic surgical support including room set up, sterile field management, handling of specimens and instruments, and room turnover.
• Assesses the equipment, instrument, and supply needs for surgical procedures and ensures availability.
• Ensures the proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during surgical procedures.
• Follows infection control policies, AORN recommended practices, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements in daily practice to ensure safety.
• Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
