Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for the Reading, PA area. The role involves preparing, sterilizing, installing or cleaning healthcare equipment and assisting in training staff.

Day shift, 8:00a-4:30p, full-time with a 1.0 FTE schedule, located at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma, CBSPD/CRCST certification, and five years of sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of sterile processing experience as a certified central technician.
• Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CBSPD/CRCST).

Summary Of Position

Prepare, sterilize, install or clean laboratory or healthcare equipment. May perform routine laboratory tasks and operate or inspect equipment. Will act as first point of escalation for staff members when supervisor is not immediately available. Individual will play integral role in training and mentoring new and existing employees and will assist in prioritizing assignments and adjusting workflows to ensure most pressing needs are met within deadlines.

Minimum Qualification(s)

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must have five (5) years of experience working in sterile processing as a certified registered central technician (CBSPD OR CRST)
• Sterile Processing Technician Certification CBSPD/CRCST
