Job summary

BayCare Health System in Indiana is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant to support the surgeon in the operating room. You will help position and prep patients, set up instruments, assist with exposure and hemostasis, and ensure sterile technique throughout procedures.

The position requires strong teamwork, communication, and a commitment to patient safety; on-call and flexible hours may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical Technology First Assist certificate required.
• 3+ years as a Surgical Tech and 1 year Surgical First Assistant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgeon during surgery and communicates preferences to the team.
• Positions, preps and drapes patients for procedures.
• Retracts tissues and organs for optimal visualization; assists with bleeding control.
• Selects equipment, holds incisions open, closes incisions and performs other technical duties.
