Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a First Assistant scrub tech to support operative procedures in the perioperative setting. The role involves preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field to assist the surgical team.

Qualified candidates will have graduate surgical technologist training, completion or verification of First Assistant components, and CST/BCLS/CSA or equivalent credentials with at least 3 years perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verification by a Piedmont surgeon.
• 3 years perioperative services experience required.
• CST, BCLS, and CSA/CSFA or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist OR staff in the assigned room/case.
• Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintain the sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
