Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is offering a PRN Surgical Tech Extern position to gain hands-on surgical experience under the guidance of circulating RNs and seasoned staff. You will help keep the operating room organized, prepared, and safe, while assisting with patient care before, during, and after procedures.

Currently enrolled in a Surgical Tech program with BLS required, you will join a comprehensive benefits culture and contribute to a mission-driven healthcare team within the HCA system.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Surgical Tech Program
• BLS, Basic Life Support Required

Responsibilities

• Organize and stock the operating room with instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure each procedure is prepared
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery, including transport, positioning, and comfort
• Support the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and helping with counts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment through turnover and infection control practices
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members while protecting patient privacy and safety
