Corpus Christi Medical Center is offering an exciting opportunity for a Surgical Tech to join our team within the HCA Healthcare system. We value meticulous aseptic technique, preparation for surgery, and teamwork to ensure patient safety.

We seek graduates of a Surgical Technology program with BCLS certification and prefer candidates with prior surgical tech experience. This on-site role supports a full-range hospital surgical services across our coastal community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or military equivalent training in the Surgical Technologist role is required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology or verifiable Surgical Tech experience prior to 9/1/2009 is required.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of applying surgical gloves using aseptic technique and maintaining a sterile field.
• Demonstrates knowledge of preparing for surgery by pulling the appropriate supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Understands and recognizes the different surgical instruments and their applications.
• Displays appropriate knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology to prepare and assist in surgical procedures.
