Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX, invites qualified Surgical Technologists to an exclusive Hiring Event to connect with the surgical team and learn about unit expectations and career opportunities.

The event focuses on pre-screened candidates who will be scheduled for interviews with department leaders. Candidates should be graduates of Surgical Technology programs with BCLS certification and ideally 1 year of experience. Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or military equivalent training.
• Certification in Surgical Technology.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Applies aseptic technique to maintain a sterile field.
• Prepares for surgery by pulling supplies and instruments.
• Understands and recognizes surgical instruments and their applications.
• Demonstrates anatomy knowledge to assist in procedures.
• Maintains a safe sterile field and corrects any issues.
• Sets up for surgical procedures and counts supplies to avoid foreign objects.
• Assists physicians during procedures and understands the procedure.
• Differentiates sutures and their applications.
• Follows through to address and correct problems.
• Demonstrates teamwork in perioperative care and participates in process improvement.
