Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review case cart to ensure required supplies, instruments and sterile equipment are available.
• Open sterile supplies aseptically in preparation for procedures.
• Scrub for cases and assist surgeons with sterile gown, gloves and instruments.
• Prepare and maintain the surgical field.
• Assemble equipment and instrumentation per procedure.
• Assist in surgical procedure and anticipate team needs.
• Disassemble sterile field and decontam instrumentation.
• Perform accurate counting procedures to promote patient safety.
• Move and transfer patients and assist with positioning.
• Follow chain of command and hospital policies; communicate effectively.

Education

Surgical Technologist certification (preferred)

Surgical Technologist program completion (accredited)

Current Surgical Technician Certification upon hire (preferred)
