HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team. You will assist in the Cardiac Services in the operating room, ensuring sterile setup, instrument passing and adherence to safety standards for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Preferred candidates have 2–3 years of CV/ Cardiac OR experience, lead CST background, and hold a Certified Surgical Technician credential with BLS/BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting.
• Lead CST experience is highly preferred.
• Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.
• Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical services in Cardiac Surgical Technologist role.
• Collaborates in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room to support adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Follows direct supervision to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Performs advanced tasks to support the surgical team.
• Prepares sterile setups, passes instruments, sponges and sutures to surgeons and assistants.

What you will do in this role:

The Cardiac Services Technician provides technical services, assists in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room while providing care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.

The Cardiac Services Technician works collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.

Works under the direct supervision of the assigned clinician for the case, and the Director, to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Performs advanced tasks routinely in support of the surgical team.

Arranges sterile setup for surgical procedures, pass instruments, as well as, sponge and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.

Prepares sterile supplies, assist in cleanup of the operating room, checks placement and the operation of equipment, and checks and restocks the operating room after each procedure.

What qualifications you will need:

2-3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting.

Lead CST experience is highly preferred.

Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.

Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.

American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.
