Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist for the CVOR Hear Team. You will join a skilled team supporting cardiac surgeries with the latest equipment, and participate in on-call coverage with clear pathways for professional growth.

You will provide sterile setup, assist in hybrid and operating rooms, and support adolescent to geriatric patients under clinician supervision.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting.
• Lead CST experience is highly preferred.
• Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.
• Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS or BCLS) course completion and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services in Cardiac services, assist in Hybrid Room and OR.
• Collaborate to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.
• Work under direct supervision to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Perform advanced tasks to support the surgical team.
• Arrange sterile setup, pass instruments, prepare sponges and sutures for surgeons.
• Prepare sterile supplies, assist in OR cleanup, check and restock equipment.

What you will do in this role:

• The Cardiac Services Technician provides technical services, assists in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room while providing care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.
• The Cardiac Services Technician works collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.
• Works under the direct supervision of the assigned clinician for the case, and the Director, to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Performs advanced tasks routinely in support of the surgical team.
• Arranges sterile setup for surgical procedures, pass instruments, as well as, sponge and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• Prepares sterile supplies, assist in cleanup of the operating room, checks placement and the operation of equipment, and checks and restocks the operating room after each procedure.

What qualifications you will need:

• 2-3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting
• Lead CST experience is highly preferred.
• Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.
• Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.
