Job summary

Palomar Health is seeking a certified Surgical Tech for 12-hour day shifts in Escondido to support the surgical team. You will scrub, assist the surgeon and the circulating RN, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure patient resources and smooth operations.

Strong English skills are required, along with CST certification and BLS. Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory for new trainees joining our healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Tech (CST/NCCT) certification required or preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• English reading and writing sufficient to perform essential functions.
• Two or more years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrub responsibilities and assists the surgeon and circulating RN.
• Follows supervision of the surgeon and circulating RN during procedures.
• Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to ensure resources for internal and external customers.
• Adheres to Palomar Health rules, policies and standards.

Job Description: Salary Range: 30.62 - 46.01 Internal Closing Date: 06/18/2026

Performs surgical scrub responsibilities; assist the surgeon and the circulating RN. Works under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and the circulating RN. Participates as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate resources for all internal and external customers. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
