Job summary

The Surgical Technologist apprentice at Huron Regional Medical Center functions as a member of the perioperative team, assisting with instrumentation, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. S/he works under the supervision of a registered nurse/surgical technician and aids in organizing departmental equipment and supplies.

The role requires enrollment in or graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, with potential onboarding as a temporary employee.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• May onboard at HRMC as a temporary employee if appropriate.
• Apprentice will enroll into the Department of Labor & Regulation and HRMC’s apprenticeship agreement and complete all required steps.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with instrumentation, supplies and equipment needed to perform the surgical procedure.
• Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse/surgical technician and assist with organization and management of equipment, supplies and instrumentation.
