Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Health System at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach for a Surgical Technology Apprenticeship. You will assist in the Operating Room, learn sterile technique, transport patients, and coordinate equipment while enrolled in a Surgical Technology Program.

The apprenticeship leads to certification and a potential full-time role after completion. Expect a PRN schedule during the program with shifts across days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in Accredited Surgical Technology Program within one year.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surgical instrument sets and equipment and ensure proper sterile conditions.
• Assist in transporting patients and room turnover.
• Assist surgeons by holding limbs/retractors, suctioning and sponging wounds.
• Coordinate equipment and supply management for service specific surgical cases.
• Educate staff on proper use and functioning of equipment.
