Job summary

Hi-Desert Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks a skilled Scrub Tech to support the surgical team in a fast-paced environment. You will assist with patient care in the OR, maintain sterile technique, and pass instruments during procedures.

The role requires surgical scrubbing proficiency, good communication, and a preference for CST certification. Full-time daytime shifts with opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Post high school vocational or specialized training.
• 1 year experience as a Scrub Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of basic surgical practices and asepsis.
• Scrub and pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeon and assistants as needed.
• Assemble all equipment used during procedures.
• Sterilize all instruments and equipment following procedures.
• Communicate effectively with other members of the surgical team.

Assists with patient care in a Surgery environment.

Responsibilities

1. Knowledge of basic surgical practices and techniques including asepsis. Able to perform procedures in a sterile manner.

2. Demonstrates proficiency in scrubbing. Passes instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeon and assistants as needed, and places all tubing and cords so they are secure, and convenient for the surgeon.

3. Ability to assemble all equipment used during procedures.

4. Knowledgeable of the cleaning and sterilizing procedures of all surgical instruments. Able to perform cleaning and sterilizing procedures on all instruments and equipment.

5. Demonstrates ability to communicate and work effectively with other members of the surgical team.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:

• Post High School Vocational /Specialized training
• 1 year experience as a Scrub Tech preferred
• CST Preferred
