Job summary

CHI Health Lakeside in Omaha, NE, seeks Surgical Technologists to prepare ORs and sterile fields for procedures, ensuring equipment is safe and working. The role requires knowledge of anatomy and handling specimens, with duties including orientation of staff and students.

Open to Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs who have completed a Surgical Tech program; pay varies by position. BLS is required; certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Prepares the operating room and sterile field for procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology in relation to the patient and procedure.
• Anticipates events during the procedure and responds efficiently.
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to policy.

Education

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Certification in Surgical Technology preferred

• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program (Pay will differ per position)
