Job summary

CHI Health Lakeside in Omaha, NE seeks a Surgical Tech to assist in preparing the operating room, set up equipment, support the surgical team, and maintain a sterile environment for diverse procedures.

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required; Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, and certification is preferred. We welcome certified or non-certified techs who completed a Surgical Tech program. This is a full‑time, on‑site role.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program (Pay will differ per position).

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Prepares the operating room and sterile field for procedures using sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology as it relates to the patient and procedure.
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during surgery and responds efficiently.
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to policy.
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of staff and students.

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Duties include

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely


• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique


• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure


• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner


• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure


• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Job Requirements

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
