Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM seeks a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician to support operating room teams. You will assist surgeons, pass sterile instruments, and help maintain patient safety under RN supervision.

Eligible candidates have a high school diploma or GED, completion of a recognized Surgical Technology program, knowledge of sterile technique, and BLS certification; six months OR experience preferred. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies.
• Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Six months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
