Job summary

Mercy Hospital St Louis is seeking a Surgical Support Advanced Technician for the Anesthesia department. The role is full-time with a 1pm-9:30pm shift, requiring a high school diploma and hospital clinical experience.

BLS is required or obtainable within 90 days of hire; CNA may be needed depending on location. Candidates should be familiar with unit technology, patient safety protocols, and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of clinical hospital experience may be required; OR experience preferred.
• BLS certification is required or obtainable within 90 days; CNA may be required per location.

Responsibilities

• Follow Mercy safety, confidentiality, and patient rights regulations.
• Demonstrates infection prevention knowledge and practices.
• Assesses safety needs and provides for a safe environment: Fall Precautions; Restraint Management; Patient Identification; Unit Policies; Safe Patient Handling.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities to enhance patient care.
• Uses unit-specific technology for daily tasks and communications (e.g., computer, pagers, Rover).
