Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical/Neuro Stepdown unit. The role involves delivering safe patient care, using the nursing process, and guiding patient/family teaching in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time position features day shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with 12-hour shifts and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Current RN license and BLS/ACLS credentials are required or preferred, with CCU/critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active State RN license required.
• Critical Care course preferred.
• BLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) certification 30 days after hire and maintained preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care; critical care preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and maintain standards of care.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in clinical condition and treatment response; maintain privacy.

Education

Current valid State Registered Nurse License

Completion of Critical Care Course

BLS (AHA) certificate

ACLS (AHA) certificate

Minimum of one-year experience as staff RN in acute care hospital
