Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of the Yale New Haven Health System, seeks a Nurse Manager for surgical sub-specialty services. You will lead intra-operative nursing care, influence clinical practice, and collaborate with the Nursing Manager to optimize resources and outcomes.

The role requires CT RN licensure and 3–5 years in a specialty setting, plus strong leadership and scheduling/credentialing abilities. Monday–Friday schedule with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in assigned specialty services required.
• Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.
• Physical duties include standing, walking, and assisting with patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Implements intra-operative nursing care per division standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitors and updates specialty nursing practice with evolving standards of care.
• Organizes specialty program modification based on goals and physician needs.
• Develops annual objectives for specialty service as directed by NM.
• Communicates operating room concerns and changes to NM.
• Directs and coordinates nursing care activities of surgical services.
