As a Surgical Services Support Technician on this dynamic team, you will help create a safe and sterile environment for surgical operations and other procedures. **A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM - 11:30PM, with on-call and holiday requirements.**

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Oversee and safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing request.

+ Use a variety of technical skills to assist the nursing staff during surgical cases.

+ Maintain and control Support Services equipment and supplies.

+ Maintain an aesthetically safe and sanitary OR environment.

+ Oversee, escort and direct customers to the appropriate source of assistance.

+ Assist the Supervisor with daily staffing.

+ Monitor and document quality outcomes.

+ Oversee and complete patient tracking through electronic software tools.

+ Coordinate and maintain Uniform Room, including locker assignments and scrubs for all OR personnel.

+ Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.

+ Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period

+ One year of experience as a Surgical Services Support Technician I or two years of experience as a leader following through with projects and managing staff

+ One year of customer service experience

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Requires a full range of body motion including ability to lift and/or bear the weight of 100 pounds with assistance, or more while pulling, lifting, pushing and transferring patients to and from various apparatus; regularly pushes moderate to heavy weight of 100 pounds or more.

+ Exposure to body fluids.

+ Must be available for flexible scheduling according to the needs of the surgical area.

+ Floating may be expected per assignment policies within the surgical support department.

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
