Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Nurse Leader for the Main OR in Birmingham. This role coordinates surgical services activities in support of patient care, maintains surgeon preference cards, coordinates vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications include a Diploma in Nursing, active Alabama RN license, and BLS within 30 days. The position requires 2+ years of related experience, with 3 preferred, and offers a comprehensive benefits package within a large

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• Active Alabama RN license is required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the clinical patient care of surgical services for the assigned service line.
• Serves as a technical or functional resource for staff and monitors progress of work.
• Coordinates shift operations including scheduling, activities, and resources to optimize workflow.
• Oversees orientation and training of assigned associates and participates in staff performance assessment.
• Oversees utilization and maintenance of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
